Ripe bananas left, but no time to prepare them? Then just freeze them! Remove the peel, put them in a plastic box or a freezer bag you’re good to go. After one day, the bananas are ready to be processed into a creamy, delicious and healthy ice cream. With this recipe I’ll show you how to make the Peanut Butter Oreo Nicecream variant.
Nicecream is named nicecream, because the ice cream is nice, in the sense of being healthy and without crappy ingredients. Besides, it’s pretty nice to prepare because it’s really easy and fast to make. Fast, at least, if you have the bananas already in the freezer, but you always have as a true nicecream fan.
What you need for the perfect nicecream is a good mixer or a blender. I like to use my blender because it works fine even with smaller portions.
Then just cut the frozen bananas into small pieces, place them in the blender and mix until a creamy ice has formed. The mixing should not take too long so that the bananas do not thaw. The faster, the creamier the ice cream becomes. Very important: do not add any liquid! This is absolutely not necessary and makes the nicecream just watery.
Alternatives to Peanut Butter Oreo Nicecream
Incidentally, nicecream also works wonderfully with mango as a base. You can also pimp your banana ice cream with all sorts of other ingredients. Today I went for peanut butter, vanilla and Oreos. A few fresh blueberries on top to put the finishing touches to the dish.
What tastes good, too:
- blueberries and almond butter
- cocoa powder
- strawberries, raspberries or cherries
When adding berries to the nicecream, try to use frozen ones. Regarding the quantity ratio it’s completely up to you to decide. I always make sure the banana is the main ingredient to keep the nicecream as it should be: creamy.
